Why I Created Little Fisho: A Mum’s Mission for Sun-Safe Adventures
As an Aussie parent, I know firsthand how intense the sun can be—especially when you spend your weekends out on the boat, at the beach, or exploring the great outdoors. But what really hit home for me was seeing how skin cancer runs in my family. My uncle lost his battle with melanoma, and my dad has had multiple skin cancers removed over the years.
That’s when I learned a shocking fact: Overexposure to the sun in childhood significantly increases the risk of skin cancer later in life. Babies and toddlers have delicate skin that is thinner and more sensitive, making them far more vulnerable to sun damage than adults. But when I went looking for sun-safe baby clothing, I realized there were no full-body options designed for families who love fishing, boating, camping, and outdoor adventures.
The Problem: No Full-Coverage Baby Fishing Outfit on the Market
I searched everywhere for something that would fully protect my daughter’s skin—without overheating her or making outdoor adventures stressful.
